My Story

I have been training dogs for over 20 years. I grew up with many dogs, but our dogs were not trained by any sense of the word. They came and went as they pleased, unless they were tied up. I always wanted to do something with them, but I didn’t know how. As an adult I got an Australian Shepherd as a puppy and she would “escape” from the house and run away. It would take me an hour to catch her, by pure luck.

So, I decided to take a dog training class and the instructor told me that I would never be able to recall a dog that was running away. I was determined that this dog would come when I called her. There began my dog training journey.

Throughout my dog training career, I have worked with several organizations as a trainer teaching Service and Therapy dogs and in basic obedience. I have fostered and trained many dogs with organizations such as Canine Support Teams, including their Prison Puppy Program, and as a trainer for 4 Paws, for continuing on the path to help those dogs who may not have had a great start in life. I am a foster/trainer for El Dorado County and Sierra Nevada German Shepherd Rescues.

I love seeing a dog progress through balanced training and then getting adopted!
